Bricks and roofing colour choices

Well we finally got our notification of our colour appointment which is scheduled for 29th April.  To be prepared for this we needed to choose bricks at roof tiles. Our choice came from Austral Bricks Everyday Life, Old Colonial, Whitsunday and Urban One. We had done a bit of research online and had decided we didn't want a red or a blonde brick and we were both happy with a dark grey roof.

They were amazingly helpful at Austral bricks and gave us a colour guide using the colourbond samples.  We liked the Whitsunday Orpheus and Urban One Pepper. We like the idea of lighter grey rendering. I did ask what the brick was that they had on the building inside the centre, It was Bowral Blue and someone had recently been quoted an upgrade of $25k.

These are the two colours we are deciding on

The roof tiles are Boral Macquarie Gunmetal (lighter grey) and Twilight. The colour samples are the colour schemes we are interested in for rendering, guttering and fascia's.

Never Blogged, Never Built...

A few weekends (22/2/15)  a go we made a big but quick decision to pay a deposit on a House and Land Package with Elderton Homes. Today we just had the good news that everything is fine with the finances and contracts will be exchanged in the next few days. From there our plan is to add a few things that are not on the inclusions list and take some items out, like the IT nook and turn it into another linen cupboard.

The land will be registered next year, but we are expecting machinery on the land from May/June.

This is going to be a learning process as its the first time we have built a house and the second time we have purchased a house. We already have asked a million questions.

This is the land at the moment. The existing house is going to be knocked down and our house is going to sit behind it, near where the shed is at the moment.

The floor plan is the same as the Jenson with Elderton Homes
