A little more progress......
The progress on the land over the past 2-3 weeks. We noticed they'd moved out and the house was boarded up. Very quickly there was a fence around the land and trees cut down. today there was no house and the first sign of machinery on the land!

Update.....
So we drove past today, as we do most days and saw that the windows on the existing house had been all boarded up or not there. The sheds have been pulled down and the the goats and ferrets have been gone for some time. It's amazing to see the progress and development in the area. On the other side of the hill we can see the bellriver homes being built and work on the park. Opposite our land there are abandoned houses that have been sold for development.
Hopefully we see some machinery on the land soon, they gave me an indication that it would be late September, but if it's earlier I definitely won't complain:)

We had our lovely and long colour appointment on 28/5/15. They had rescheduled it from April.
We had upgraded a few items, ceiling height, appliances, cabinetry in the laundry, melamine shelving etc prior to this appointment.
Here are some samples of what we chose for the interior and exterior.
Bench top in Kitchen - Santorini Smartstone. The laminate in the laundry is very similar to this.
Cabinet colours from back left ;
bathroom vanities mushroom linea
Back Right - kitchen cupboards Royal Oyster
Front - laundry cupboards designer white
As mentioned before we have chosen Twilight roof tile and Orpheus Brick
Colourbond samples from left;
Wallaby for Garage Doors
Monument for Window Frames, Guttering and down pipes
Surfmist for facia
Other paint colours;
Apache stone for front door and infills
Marble Mist for interior walls
Surfmist for facade rendering, eaves and sofit
Electrical Appointment;
We also had our Electrical appointment that day. We have upgraded a few things and will probably have the wiring done for down lights and a few others so my father can install them. We will know the costing of this hopefully by the end of the week
Also the request for the deposit came through, which needs to be paid by the end of the week.
A few things happening, but then it feels like nothing is happening!

Bricks and roofing colour choices
Well we finally got our notification of our colour appointment which is scheduled for 29th April. To be prepared for this we needed to choose bricks at roof tiles. Our choice came from Austral Bricks Everyday Life, Old Colonial, Whitsunday and Urban One. We had done a bit of research online and had decided we didn't want a red or a blonde brick and we were both happy with a dark grey roof.
They were amazingly helpful at Austral bricks and gave us a colour guide using the colourbond samples. We liked the Whitsunday Orpheus and Urban One Pepper. We like the idea of lighter grey rendering. I did ask what the brick was that they had on the building inside the centre, It was Bowral Blue and someone had recently been quoted an upgrade of $25k.

These are the two colours we are deciding on
The roof tiles are Boral Macquarie Gunmetal (lighter grey) and Twilight. The colour samples are the colour schemes we are interested in for rendering, guttering and fascia's.
Below are some photos of houses who have built with with Pepper bricks

Never Blogged, Never Built...
A few weekends (22/2/15) a go we made a big but quick decision to pay a deposit on a House and Land Package with Elderton Homes. Today we just had the good news that everything is fine with the finances and contracts will be exchanged in the next few days. From there our plan is to add a few things that are not on the inclusions list and take some items out, like the IT nook and turn it into another linen cupboard.
The land will be registered next year, but we are expecting machinery on the land from May/June.
This is going to be a learning process as its the first time we have built a house and the second time we have purchased a house. We already have asked a million questions.

This is the land at the moment. The existing house is going to be knocked down and our house is going to sit behind it, near where the shed is at the moment.
The floor plan is the same as the Jenson with Elderton Homes
